Kombucha is a beverage made by adding sugar and bacteria to water steeped in tea such as black tea or green tea and fermenting it. Tea water is fermented using a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast. Through this process, natural carbonic acid, vitamins, and the so-called ‘3 biotics’ (prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics) are produced. It is an old drink that traces its origins back to the Silla period, the Qin Shi Huang period, and even BC China. It contains various substances beneficial to the human body and is characterized by low calories and sugar.We designed a new kombucha brand called SKOBI, made by a vinegar manufacturer. The name SKOBI is derived from Scoby, a key element in making kombucha, and refers to a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast.The existing kombucha market was a health food mainly sought after by older people in their 50s and 60s, but now demand from the younger generation in their 20s and 30s is steadily increasing. In line with this trend, we strategically developed a sophisticated and pretty brand image and package design targeting young consumers.
